Heritage of the Bigouden country

Brittany is an authentic region with a strong identity that can be found in its heritage. You will discover in the Pays Bigouden many chapels, manor houses, megalithic sites, traditional buildings to visit during your stay.

Near the Hortensias campsite, visit the Kérazan Manor in Loctudy, classified as a historical monument. You will discover life in the Breton manors of the 19th century. You will appreciate a beautiful collection of paintings and period furniture as well as the park and the vegetable garden.

The former fish cannery Alexis Le Gall is now being renovated to open it to visitors. It has benefited from a grant from the Fondation du Patrimoine for the work in progress. Dating from the beginning of the 20th century, it is the only testimony of this economic activity typical of the Breton coast. The attraction of this site is that all the production equipment has been kept in good working order.

Numerous megalithic sites dot the Pays Bigouden. By visiting the museum of prehistory in St Guénolé Penmarc'h, you will discover the very ancient occupation of our region whose traces can still be seen today in the landscape. The menhirs, covered walkways, tumulus are listed and are the subject of a discovery circuit through the country lanes. Ask for the map of the Megalithic circuit at the Tourist Office.
